About Sarla Aviation:

Sarla Aviation is at the forefront of revolutionizing urban air mobility with its cutting-edge eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft featuring innovative tilt-rotor technology. Sarla Aviation, a pioneer in the development of sustainable, efficient, and safe air transportation systems, is dedicated to influencing the future of aviation. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Avionics Engineer to join our expanding team and contribute to the success of our eVTOL program.

About the Role:

As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and integrating avionics systems for our eVTOL aircraft. Your work will ensure that flight control, navigation, communication, and sensor systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will be responsible not only for designing individual systems but also for ensuring seamless integration and communication between multiple avionics subsystems. MATLAB/Simulink will be a key tool in your workflow for modeling, simulating, and validating system-level performance. If you are detail-oriented, passionate about aviation technology, and thrive in system-level thinking, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and integrate avionics systems including flight control systems (FCS), navigation, autopilot, communication systems, sensor fusion, mission computers, and display systems.
· Lead the integration of avionics subsystems and ensure proper interaction between hardware, software, and communication networks.
· Implement and support avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429, ARINC 664 (AFDX), MIL-STD-1553, CAN, CAN-FD, UART, SPI, and I2C.
· Use MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, simulation, and validation of avionics systems and control algorithms.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering) to ensure system-level integration and optimization.
· Conduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting of avionics systems to meet safety and performance standards.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification standards, including DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP4754.
· Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in avionics design, integration, and testing.
· Evaluate emerging avionics technologies and recommend solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
· Document designs, integration procedures, test plans, and results in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
· 7–9 years of professional experience in avionics engineering, preferably in aircraft or eVTOL development.
· Strong knowledge of avionics system architecture, embedded systems, and hardware-software integration.
· Hands-on experience with system-level avionics integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
· Familiarity with key aviation certification standards: DO-178B/C, DO-254, ARP4754.
· Expertise in avionics communication protocols: ARINC 429, ARINC 664 (AFDX), MIL-STD-1553, CAN, CAN-FD, UART, SPI, I2C.
· Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, control system development, and simulation-based verification.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with electric or hybrid aircraft systems.
· Familiarity with UAVs, drones, or eVTOL platforms.
· Exposure to Linux-based embedded systems, real-time software, and avionics system integration tools.
· Knowledge of avionics system simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and test automation frameworks.
