About Sarla Aviation:
Sarla Aviation is at the forefront of revolutionizing urban air mobility with its cutting-edge eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft featuring innovative tilt-rotor technology. Sarla Aviation, a pioneer in the development of sustainable, efficient, and safe air transportation systems, is dedicated to influencing the future of aviation. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Flight Control System Developer to join our expanding team and contribute to the success of our eVTOL program.
About the Role:
As a Senior Flight Control System Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end flight control system architecture of our eVTOL aircraft. You will oversee system-level integration of sensors, actuators, avionics, and control algorithms, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance operation across all flight regimes. Your work will span system design, simulation, integration, testing, and verification, collaborating closely with avionics, software, mechanical, and systems teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, integration, and performance management of the overall flight control system.
- Ensure seamless integration of flight control sensors, actuators, avionics, and mission computers.
- Oversee and contribute to simulation, modeling, and validation of flight control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Develop and execute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing frameworks for end-to-end flight control system validation.
- Collaborate with avionics, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal system performance.
- Define and implement system-level requirements, test plans, and verification procedures.
- Develop High-Level Requirements (HLRs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for the flight control system and its interaction with other aircraft systems.
- Ensure compliance with aviation certification standards, including DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP4754.
- Identify, evaluate, and incorporate emerging technologies to enhance flight control system performance, reliability, and safety.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in system-level flight control integration and testing.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Control Systems, or related Engineering field.
- 8 years of professional experience in flight control system engineering, preferably in aircraft, UAV, or eVTOL development.
- Strong expertise in flight control system architecture, system integration, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with system-level testing, simulation, and HIL/SIL frameworks.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling, simulation, and verification.
- Experience in developing HLRs and ICDs for avionics and flight control systems.
- Familiarity with avionics integration, sensors, actuators, and embedded control systems.
- Knowledge of aviation certification standards: DO-178B/C, DO-254, ARP4754.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electric or hybrid-electric aircraft systems.
- Familiarity with UAVs, drones, or eVTOL flight dynamics.
- Exposure to real-time embedded software, Linux, or RTOS for flight control applications.
- Knowledge of system-level performance tuning, integration testing, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with flight simulation platforms, HIL setups, or test benches
