Sarla Aviation, a pioneer in the development of sustainable, efficient, and safe air transportation systems, is dedicated to influencing the future of aviation.

About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic Lead System Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer who thrives in a startup environment and takes ownership of driving critical activities across the product lifecycle. This role is pivotal in ensuring system integrity and performance through rigorous integration, verification, and validation processes. You will not only lead technical execution but also guide, mentor, and build a high-performing V&V team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define, plan, and lead all system-level V&V activities, ensuring compliance with requirements and program objectives.
  2. Specify and oversee the development of test environments, including hardware, software, and simulation setups, to support robust verification campaigns.
  3. Work closely with internal and external test teams to coordinate system integration, lab, ground and flight testing, and performance evaluations.
  4. Ensure seamless integration across subsystems and manage end-to-end test readiness.
  5. Recruit, mentor, and develop a skilled V&V team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
  6. Partner with hardware, software, and specialty engineering teams to ensure V&V completeness and system performance.
  7. Utilize systems engineering tools and drive continuous improvement in V&V methodologies.
  8. Identify risks, issues, and corrective actions in V&V plans and results, ensuring timely resolution.
  9. Prepare and present technical deliverables to leadership and program stakeholders.

Typical Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in systems engineering and V&V for complex aerospace systems including critical domains such as flight controls, airframe, propulsion, avionics, and structural systems to ensure overall system integrity and performance.
  3. Expertise in MBSE, requirements management tools, and verification tools (MATLAB/Simulink, NI/LabView, Python).
  4. Strong leadership skills with experience in team building and mentoring.
  5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of deliverables.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with FAA/EASA/DGCA/CEMILAC certification process.
  2. Understanding of Means of Compliance for emerging eVTOL regulations.
  3. Strong understanding of DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A standards for aerospace systems.
  4. Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for aerospace systems (DO-326A).
  5. Proficiency in configuration management and compliance documentation.
  6. Knowledge of ARP4761 safety assessment and reliability analysis.
  7. Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting (Python, MATLAB).
  8. Knowledge of simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink, NI LabVIEW).
  9. Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
  10. Ability to manage requirements traceability and compliance audits.
  11. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for complex system integration challenges.
